Inscription gets researching recipes in build 8970

Inscription gets researching recipes in build 8970 In the small patch that was applied to the Beta servers last night, there were a few Inscription tweaks. Of course there were some minor tweaks to various class glyphs, but the most interesting change came in the form of 2 new recipes: Minor Inscription Research and Northrend Inscription Research. The former creates items that may teach you a new minor glyph, while the latter creates items that may teach you a new major glyph. Minor Inscription Research looks to be a very cheap spell, using the basic Moonglow Ink, while Northrend Inscription Research is a little more expensive, requiring Ink of the Sea and Snowfall Ink, both of which are created with pigments made from milling Northrend herbs. Both abilities also have a 20 hour cooldown, so no spamming them to collect all the glyphs even if you do lay in a massive stockpile of ink and parchment. It’s sort of like the old spell research for casters from Everquest combined with

Addon Spotlight: Mac Dual-boxing 2

Addon Spotlight: Mac Dual-boxing 2 Macros Here is where you start laying the foundation for the slave’s interaction with the master. I spent time writing macros that enabled the slave to assist the master. Each combat and healing ability I use regularly on my slave (a Balance Druid) has an associated macro to assist the focus target. (Which I designate at the beginning of gameplay as my master.) Here are a couple of examples of macros I am using. /assist focus /startattack I use this when I don’t really need much help and want to regen mana via /target focus /cast Regrowth One of the healing spells cast on the master /target Self /cast Regrowth Slave heals himself   /follow focus Used to facilitate both toons moving together /assist focus /cast Starfire A basic macro to cast a variety of offensive spells (Starfire in this case) /drink /eat /dance A few basic administrative-type abilities plus the Moonkin dance for laughs. (Note that these three are different

Some Gnomes glitched in Wrath beta

Some Gnomes glitched in Wrath beta   Gnomes can’t handle their weapons. At least not in the Wrath beta. In a strange graphics glitch, gnomes of certain classes look as if their swords are glued to the backs of their hands instead of being grasped. The glitch occurs whether fighting or not. It doesn’t happen with Warlocks, who hold their weapons correctly, but I was able to replicate it with a Rogue and there are Warrior screenshots elsewhere on the web. Some players are even reporting that their offhand weapon is floating away and seeming to fight by itself. Blue forum poster, Gradina, says that Blizzard knows about the issue and is working on a fix. Now in the meantime, I think a little creativity is called for. Instead of stabbing or slicing with your sword, you could slap mobs upside the head. (Who doesn’t like the phrase “upside the head”?) Or, you could spin around really quickly, Whirlwind style, and scrape everyone on the ankles, thereby cutting

Druid Addons you shouldn’t do without

Druid Addons you shouldn’t do without For more experienced players, there are a few Addons that you can use to make life as a Druid much smoother. It takes a bit of patience if you haven’t spent any time messing around with Addons in the past, but the benefits, even early on, are immense. If you are unfamiliar with how to install Addons in World of Warcraft, you can find a very nice, very detailed guide here in WoWInterfaces’ FAQs to help you out. The main Addon that all Druids should at least try is some form of automatic equipment changer. I personally prefer ItemRack. When you install it, you may have to enable the ‘Load out of date addons’ option in your addon window at the character select screen, but I love this Addon. As you level, you will most likely stick with one equipment set optimized for either Cat form DPS for faster leveling (high strength, agility, attack power, +Crit and stamina), or a set for Balance DPS casting. If you have the

Alliance Able To Get Past AB Gate

Alliance Able To Get Past AB Gate I will post a screenshot of this exploit here soon, as i’m posting this at work. So the best i can do for now is mspaint.   It is confirmed ALLIANCE ONLY can still jump over the Arathi Basin fence.   You need 3 peices of riding speed gear (mithril spurs, riding speed to gloves, and your carrot on a stick), and your epic mount.   The jump point is about 2 yards to the right of the “right hand edge” of the “right arm” of the gate that opens at the beginning of play time. Refer to dodgy msPaint image below.   There is a small grass mound around the tree at the base of my arrow. You need to jump off the end of this to have enough clearance over the fence.   It does take many attempts, and even our guilds seasoned IF Bank gap jumper had problems trying to get it their first time, just persist and anyone skilled can get it.   I would suggest grabbing the blacksmith with the free time you have, someone else can worry

Wrath of the Lich King maps

Wrath of the Lich King maps   Wrath of the Lich King information is really flooding in. For the latest bit, let’s take a look at some of the new maps in the game. These were obtained through a variety of sources and are 100% real, all right from the beta. Click through our gallery to see them all – including nice high res versions. You’ll notice three maps missing – The Storm Peaks, Icecrown Glacier, and Dalaran. Those maps are not done yet. There are some composites that other sites have put together via the mini-map from the data files, but they’re neither finished nor “normal” maps. I like the Stormwind Harbor one the best, if only because the Stormwind map hasn’t changed in all these years and it’s odd to suddenly see it different. The one I enjoy the least is the Borean Tundra, the color scheme doesn’t sit well with me. It looks like…well…I’ll let you all draw your own conclusions. Enjoy the maps! And

Lichborne: State of the Death Knight

Lichborne: State of the Death Knight   Welcome to Lichborne, WoW Insider’s newest class column. Every week in Lichborne, Daniel Whitcomb will explore the ins and outs of Blizzard’s newest class, the Death Knight. It’s Wrath of the Lich King Beta time, and finally time to meet the new Death Knight class. Unfortunately, we can’t really guarantee you’ll be meeting the same class that you’ll see in the live game, per se. It’s not that the class isn’t shaping up well or isn’t quite distinctive, it’s more that there’s just so much that’s changing. The next build that’s scheduled to hit the Beta servers is a perfect example. Not only will talent trees be changing extensively, with some talents becoming baseline and some baseline abilities becoming talents, some talents switching tiers, and others even switching trees, but the very way we inflict and stack diseases will be getting some tweaking as well. In

The Art of War(craft): Battleground Achievements part I

The Art of War(craft): Battleground Achievements part I   You’ve seen it happen. Players fighting on the road or midfield, ignoring the Battleground’s objective. Or sometimes the opposite, such as Alterac Valley races where players ignore each other in a mad rush to the opposing army’s General. In Wrath of the Lich King, Blizzard will introduce Achievements, a system that measures a player’s… well, achievements in the game. There’s a category that tracks PvP Achievements, as well, including some interesting goals for the Battlegrounds. The question is, will these Achievements actually improve the Battlegrounds PvP experience or ruin it? On the surface, it looks as though the various Battlegrounds Achievements are designed to improve World of Warcraft PvP. Achievements like Frenzied Defender, which requires players to return the flag five times in a single Warsong Gulch battle, seem like the perfect solution to get players to actually try and win
